So. Hum Fireman's Games
Calling all volunteer firefighters and families alike! Get ready to witness the thrill of the First Annual Firemen's Games, where volunteer firefighters from across Southern Humboldt will showcase their skills in a series of old-fashioned firefighting competitions.
Scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, from 2 PM to 5 PM, this family-friendly event promises a day filled with excitement and camaraderie as teams compete in various traditional firefighting techniques. From the classic bucket brigade to quick dressing and hose coupling challenges, participants will demonstrate agility, teamwork, and dedication to keeping our community safe. Children and teens can explore, discover, and learn about their favorite rigs and the dedicated operators behind them.
But that's not all—the event's highlight awaits, as the winning fire department will be awarded the prestigious Firemen's Trophy. Engraved with the department's name, this trophy symbolizes the spirit of excellence and camaraderie, akin to the VFD Stanley Cup award!
In addition to the thrilling competitions, attendees can look forward to delicious BBQ from Tree Nug Farms, serving pork, ribs, brats, mac and cheese, and more!
PLUS, the Box Bar, a tongue-in-cheek box truck, turned into a fun and unique mobile bar on wheels. It offers up to seven taps, full bar facilities, and a cute lounge. Bubbles, brews, and booze!
There will also be family-friendly activities and opportunities to meet and greet local firefighters.
